Rockstar has announced that the latest title in the popular Midnight Club series will be released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 12, 2008. Also releasing on September 9th is Midnight Club: LA Remix exclusively for the PSP.

As a huge fan of the Midnight Club series, several of us on the EDG staff have been looking forward to MC: Los Angeles ever since it was announced last year. Not only is MC: Los Angeles the first Midnight Club to appear for Xbox 360 and PS3 but it is said to have major improvements over the previous versions. Several of the new features include the addition of licensed cars (such as the Challenger in the screenshot above) and the ability to customize and tune vehicles.

The founder of Rockstar Games, we all know him as Sam Houser, says “From the beginning, Midnight Club has been about street racing in a open-world - With our team at Rockstar San Diego we have developed a game that we feel once again pushes the boundaries and expectations of what a racing game can be.”

I certainly hope so Sam! I liked Burnout: Paradise but I can’t wait to see if Midnight Club: Los Angeles is better. Check out Gamespy for their latest Midnight Club: Los Angeles screens!
