Thefting Autos in Grand Fashion

GTA IVAt midnight I swooped into my local Best Buy and picked up a copy of Grand Theft Auto 4 - along with many others. And perhaps like many others, I still have not slept since as I write this. The intense hold that GTA III was renowned for is alive and well for its true, next-generation successor.

One particular thing I noticed while standing in line is how games such as Grand Theft Auto, often made the convenient scapegoat by anti-video game advocates, can bring such a diverse group of people together. Many different races, men and women, of many avenues brought together and even while it was a bit cold outside, everyone was laughing and having good time. Again, just a personal observation, but it definitely struck a cord with me.

Thanks to our sneaky Mr. Luther “MegamanSolid” Haynes, we already have a GTA IV review completed! Luther held out on us as he has been enjoying the game for the better part of the last couple days - no matter we’ll get him back in GTA IV multiplayer!! Expect even more GTA IV first-impressions as we break down single player and multiplayer throughout the week.

Below are a few photos I took at the Best Buy GTA IV midnight launch here in Elk Grove, CA. Please excuse the blurriness - shaky hands trying to steady an iPhone!

  1. I agree with you about the comaraderie and diversity shown with the midnight crowd. It was the same for me in chicago. As much as people criticize the game, I only saw the best in those that were outside. Sorry for being stealthy but it was the only way to get that review done. Let me know when everyone is online and we can play “Cops n Crooks” for a little payback. LOL.

  2. I’ll post a thread in the Forum to see who else is in to play. I’m so sleepy but I’ll probably be on in a few hours.
